Ontario, CA --- Over the course of the past weekend, two students from Bunasawa-Kai Judo Club in Costa Mesa, CA competed in a national judo championship - the United States Judo Association (USJA) nationals held in Ontario, CA. The Bunasawa Junior Judo Team, coached by Daniel Lee, captured two national championship titles. The team turned in exceptional showing and brought home silver and bronze medals. 

The medalists were:
Silver Medalist: Harrison Bachman (Irvine, CA)
Boys 11-12 yr old Under 42 kg
Bronze Medalist: David Lee (Irvine, CA)
Boys 7-8 yr old Under 31 kg

In addition, David Lee, son of Daniel Lee, earned the Courage Award for competing in his own weight class and heavier pool. “I am extremely proud of David and the way he competed in the National championship. This is David's first time competing in a national level since his regional competition at Nikkei Games.”
